Ashley’s Blogtober Take Comfort

The epitome of all comfort. Christ died to save us:

Because Christ died; we have salvation, purpose, and joy. All of these tidbits about Christ are gathered from my Blogtober posts. I hope you find some joy and comfort in them. Love you my friends! -Ashley

DAY 2: HE LOVES US

He loved the world so much that He sent His son down to die for us, because we were condemned. He did it so we could have everlasting life. He loves us and He wants what’s best for us. He loves us regardless of our sin, regardless of our circumstance, regardless of what we’ve done.

DAY 6: WE ARE HIS CHILDREN

As soon as we accept Jesus as our Lord and savior, we automatically become His children.

DAY 7: HE PROTECTS US

Then it says, ‘with your right hand you save me.’ Jesus is called the right hand of God. And He died for us to protect us from the enemy. To save us so that in death, we can have life with Him. If He had not done that, in death we were condemned. We were doomed to spend eternity with the enemy in the flames of hades. He saved us from the enemy’s grasp.

He has fought battles for you that you will never see, because of what Jesus did. And take time to smile about it. It wasn’t guaranteed, but He did it. So, how can we let anything, especially sadness or anger outshine that?

DAY 9: NO ONE CAN SEPARATE US FROM HIM

I think a big reason why we cannot be separated is because He dwells in us. In our hearts.

It is only because of what Jesus did that we are able to come to God at all. So, it makes sense that He also holds us to the Father like glue.

Nothing can tear you away from God’s embrace, because you are filled with His Son. You did nothing to earn it, but it was a labor of love from Christ himself.

DAY 10: HE STAYS THE SAME

Even though He stays the same, He is the result of change in us. When we welcome Him into our hearts and lives, we change. We strive to please Him and obey Him. Which in turn makes us change for the better. He transforms us from dead cold bodies and makes us born again. We become alive with his Spirit

DAY 12: HE IS ALWAYS WITH US

What an amazing God He is to be with us like that. But He is; in fact, it is even in His son’s name: Immanuel (which means “God with us”) Matthew 1:23.

DAY 13: HE BLESSES US

Blessing comes through Christ because without Christ we are nothing. So only when Christ is in our hearts, do we receive any blessing from the Father.

DAY 14: HE IS FORGIVING

Because He loves us so much and He is such a forgiving God; He sent his son Jesus down to die so now our sins are washed away with his blood.

Now that we are forgiven; we are meant to forgive others and to strive to be like Christ

Jesus paid our debt. Smile about that today. You are washed white. You are forgiven. You have a clean slate, so what are you going to do with it?

DAY 17: HE TALKS TO US

We were born into sin and God is holy and blameless.

And only through Christ can we be born again. Shedding sin like skin and born anew. We are shredding sin because we are forgiven. How did we become worthy to even be forgiven? Through the shedding of the blood of Jesus Christ. He saved us. Once we invite Jesus into our hearts, and become born again, we can hear him clearer. Because He is in our hearts and in our consciousness. He becomes our inner voice.

DAY 18: HE KEEPS HIS PROMISES

For uswhobelive, He has promised us eternal life and a room in heaven with him. That is unbelievable to even think about, that one day I will live with the Lord and meet Him face to face. But it is promised so it will come to fruition.

Long before it happened; He promised that His Son would come down and die for all. And it came to fruition.

He wants us all to come to Him and repent. Because without Jesus in your heart; some of these promises do not include you.

Make sure you are called on by the Lord, because Jesus Christ will come like a thief in the night.

Jesus will not delay for He is faithful. The shepherd is coming back for His sheep.

He has the power to do what He promised. The day is approaching.

I am waiting for that day. I am listening for that trumpet and I am taking comfort in the fact that my Father will come back for me, His child. That means more to me than you all know. I’ve never had a father. Many father figures, yes. But, as some of you may know is never quite the same. All those years that a young Ashley would wish and dream for her father to appear and be perfect and loving and take her away to live with him, was never coming to fruition. Because humans will disappoint us and not keep promises, but our heavenly father will and does and has kept every single promise. Every word that has come from His lips is true and solid.

DAY 19: HE GIVES US WHAT WE NEED

He sacrificed His only Son for us! Because we needed it. If He did that then what else would He withhold from us?

DAY 20: HE BUILDS US UP

Our firm foundation is Jesus Christ. Jesus is in our hearts, so we are sealed. It the only foundation that will last.

God strengthen us and will uphold us with His right hand (Jesus).

DAY 22: HE IS GIVING

Whatever you may need you can go to the Father. It is because of Jesus Christ that we can even do that.

DAY 23: HE GIVE US WISDOM

God gives wisdom that is worth more than gold to the person who pleases him as well as happiness. And it is all because we are in Christ Jesus, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

DAY 24: HE GIVES US REST

He refreshes our soul when we are weary and faint. He cleans us of our sins so that we can be refreshed. He is forgiving of our sins.

We put our hope in Him, then we are to take off our old selves that died with Christ and put on our new selves that is with God so that we can be renewed in knowledge.

DAY 25: HE GIVES US COURAGE

The Lord will always be there to strengthen us. We have Jesus so we are set in stone. If that is true and we believe it then who could we possibly fear?

Lack courage? Go to the Father. We are so blessed and fortunate that we can come to the Father for things like this. I will tell you one thing. It did not come free. Someone gave their life for it. And that someone was Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Immanuel, God with us.

DAY 26: HE GIVES US JOY

Jesus is coming back for us! Because of that we have joy. No one can ever take that away from us.

DAY 27: PEACE

He is the epitome of peace. After all, Jesus is called the prince of peace.

DAY 28: HE GIVES US STRENGTH

Here is an analogy. Say that you are out in a storm. Like a tornado and you must find a shelter soon or you will be ripped apart. The only shelter that has not fallen or caved in is right in front of you. But you cannot go in because you don’t have any money. But then Jesus walks you up to the shelter and pays your way in with His blood. He sacrifices His life so that you can take refuge.

In my analogy, the storm is death, and the shelter is the Father. It seems like a waste to stand out in the storm and wait for pending doom. It seems senseless to not take the refuge. Jesus has already bought your way in; He died for you. So why not take it? Grab onto that refuge and never let it go. It will be the only shelter that lasts. All others will cave in and fall, but the fortress of God will stand forever.

DAY 29: HE GIVES US HOPE

He is our hope, so trust Him and be filled with His joy, peace, and comfort. Jesus is coming back; it is a secure hope. You are secure. Take rest in that. Your hope will never perish or be cut off. Jesus died to give us new birth into living hope. The inheritance of that is kept in heaven for us – eternal life. He saved us from the pit. Uswhobelive have the only hope that will stand, so let us wait patiently for the promise to come to fruition. Let’s put our hope in the word where the promise was written before the beginning of time. Look at the grace you have been given and give praise for it. HAVE FAITH!

DAY 30: HE GIVES US PURPOSE

His purpose is to save us by drawing us close to Him so that we might truly live and that we will lead others to Him so that they will truly live. So that His name will be proclaimed in all the earth.

  • His Son is in us

  • We are chosen

  • God works for the good of those who love him. We who are called.

  • Whoever follows Jesus has the light of life.

  • He has saved us and called us to a holy life, not because of what we have done, but because of what He has done. He died to give us grace and purpose.

I know what you might be thinking. If we are saved by grace, why do we need to do what He has asked. If we don’t keep His commandments, if we don’t act justly, and if we don’t read his word; He has already forgiven us. Yes, my friends, you are forgiven, but if you truly love God and walk with Him; then you should want to do what your Father has asked. We are like children who cannot see why these things are necessary. So, don’t lean on your own understanding because you cannot see what is ahead. You cannot see the whole picture, but your Father can. And if we don’t not obey Him; we get lost and off the path.

Keep your eyes on the prize. Eternal life. You are saved from the pit. You have the light of life! So, lead others to Him so that they may have the same. Let His name be proclaimed in all the earth! Take joy and comfort in the fact that you have purpose through God!
