Choose To Smile
Hello friends! So, today we are going back to our series 'My Favorite Verses'. These verses that I will go over today discusses God's knowledge. And yes, we are going back to Psalms 139 - I cannot help it. I just love so many verses from this chapter.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain. (Verse 6)
How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand - when I awake, I am still with you. (Verses 17 & 18)
His knowledge is too wonderful for us. We will never be able to comprehend all that God can. His thoughts are precious and vast. What I get out of this is - if we cannot ever attain the amount of knowledge God has and if our thoughts cannot compare to the thoughts of our Creator, then how can we claim that we know what is better for our lives?
How can we complain that things aren't going the way that we want? How can we move God to the backburner so that we can pursue 'our plans' when it says in His word that His plans are better than ours, that His way is better than ours, and that He can do more than we could ever imagine?
We struggle with trusting the God who is able to do anything because we fear He might ask us to do something hard or that He will lead our lives in a way that we do not want to go. But if you trust Him, I promise, He will lead you to better destinations then you could ever go to yourself. The Bible says that He does good for those who love Him. Why don't we trust in that?
Why do we let the worry of this world keep us from finding joy? Does the book of Matthew not say, "Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable then they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?"(6:26-27)
We can trust Him because He does good for those who love Him and His understanding is far greater than ours. Why do we ask the age old question, "Why are things the way they are?" Does the clay look up at the potter and tell him what to do? No.
Because we can trust Him, we can leave the world's problems at His feet, at least for a little while, and we can choose to smile. So, I invite you to do that today.
