Christ is the Gateway into Everlasting

Hello friends and welcome back to 1 John Series. Today we will continue in chapter two - verse 12:

I am writing to you, dear children, because your sins have been forgiven on account of his name. I am writing to you, fathers, because you know him who is from the beginning. I am writing to you, young men, because you have overcome the evil one. I write to you, dear children, because you know the Father. I write to you, fathers, because you know him who is from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God lives in you, and you have overcome the evil one. (Verses 12 - 14)

The evil one is under the Father. The power of the Father is incomparable to any other. He knows the beginning and the end alike and He has seen the both and will be there for them both. He constructed the concept of existence. He is the one who drew the blueprints of our world, our life, our galaxies. How great is He who defines life and takes it with kindness in His heart and knows His people down to every hair on their head. He is good and good will always beat evil. So know that today. Know that nothing can dwindle his light or goodness. Nothing can separate you from His goodness, His love, His grace for you. He loves you with a love that you cannot fathom with human emotions.

Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in the world - the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life - comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever. (Verses 15 - 17)

Be one of those who are in the world, but not of it. Because those who are of the world are like the dust of the earth and will fade with the world becoming part of it. He will not save them from this fate because they are not of Him. They will be swallowed by the darkness they live in. So, live in light and let the light embrace you.

Dear children, this is the last hour; and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come. This is how we know it is the last hour. They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us. (Verses 18 & 19)

But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth. I do not write to you because you do not know the truth, but because yo do know it and because no lie comes from the truth. Who is the liar? it is whoever denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a person is the antichrist - denying the Father and the Son. No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also. (Verse 20 -23)

If you belong to the Father, it is because you know the Son, because no one can get to the Father unless through the Son. Jesus is the gateway into the way everlasting. He is the foundation to it all. His sacrifice tore the veil so that anyone that believes in Him can enter into the kingdom of Heaven. Then, and only then, can we have life everlasting.

As for you, see what you have heard from the beginning remains in you. If it does, you also will remain in the Son and in the Father. And this is what he promised us - eternal life. (Verses 24 & 25)

What a priceless gift. An underserved life that I've been giving through Christ crucified. He brought me out of death. He brought me into life. I was under your wrath and now through the cross I'm reconciled. (Sweetly Broken by Jeremy Riddle)

I am writing these things to you about those who are trying to lead you astray. As for you the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit - just as it has taught you, remain in him. (Verses 26 & 27)

And now, dear children, continue in him, so that when he appears we may be confident and unashamed before him at his coming. If you know that he is righteous, you know that everyone who does what is right has been born of him. (Verses 28 & 29)

Even way back in John's day, they were preparing for the Jesus to come back. But didn't He recently rise in John's lifetime? That just goes to show that it is never too early for Christ to return. He could have returned the day after He rose from the dead, so be prepared. Keep your flask filled with oil and stay in the light of life. Don't be of the world, but just live in the world and smile.
