Dedicate Comes To A Close - Stay Dedicated, for with a Mind of Flesh, Good Things Can Slip Away

Hello friends and welcome back to Dedicate. Today is our final Biblical hunt for our key words. These ones were used in part 3 of this series 'Dedication Helps Us to Keep Going'.

Unwavering:

Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.

Hebrews 10:23

Let us not waver, but stay dedicated to He who promised and still promises today. The last 2 parts of this Biblical hunt have been titled with something God told me. First, we had 'Do not let them slip away as good things can do in hands made of the flesh' Then, we had 'Good things can be overlooked by eyes made of flesh.' And God has added to the pattern today:

God is the one true God. He is not effected by the acts or works of His creation, though He does mourn for them. He loves His children and the ones whom He created, but nothing they can do can change His mind or morals. He is forever unchanged by ages, times, circumstances, or opinions. Can you say the same? Can you be dismayed, swayed by the wind, knocked off your foundation; or are you planted with roots that bring forth fruit from its dense, rich soil? Don't let yourself go off down stream and do not let good things slip away as things can easily do when your mind is of the flesh, but let you light shine instead and let men see your good works so that they may glorify your Father which is in Heaven. This age, time, opinion of day, it does not affect you unless you let it.

Wow, good things can indeed slip away with our flesh.

Overcomer:

For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believe Jesus is the Son of God.

1 John 5:4-5

It is only by faith that we can be overcomers and all of the glory goes to Him who gives us the strength to overcome. If you need a little of that strength today, ask for it, He gives it abundantly. But, be careful and don't loose grasp of it, overlook it, or be unmindful of it because it is there.

Unmovable:

Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because your know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

1 Corinthians 15:58

Let nothing move you and let nothing take you off the path of dedication. Let nothing steal the good things you have right in front of you, especially not your flesh.

Steadfast:

You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.

Isaiah 26:3

This our reward for dedication - the PERFECT peace that comes from trusting in Him. This is achieved when we have steadfast behavior (if you want to know what steadfast behavior is, check out part 4 of this series 'Steadfast Dedication'.

Well, my friends, that was Dedicate. I hope you enjoyed. I know I did. I can't help but feel like there is more to this, which I feel every time I complete a series, but an end has to come at some point. I also think this series could be structured better, in a way that is impossible to do in blog form, but could translate nicely in book form. Maybe I should make a devotional book using this series as a foundation to build off of.

This series has been different to other series I've done in the past and that is exactly what I prayed for in the planning stages of Dedicate. God has really had His hand on this one. I feel like maybe I should do a summary blog so I can properly link themes and ideals together, since it's hard to reference things in a post that I wrote two months ago, yes this series has been going on for a while.

I might do that, but for now, grasp the joy and the good things that are right in front of you.
