Dropping Chaos and Sprouting Stability In Christ
Hello friends and welcome to Blogtober. This year’s concept is an autumnal metaphor that I came up with: In fall, trees drop dry, decaying leaves that are not beneficial to the tree. In the same manner, uswhobelieve, can drop things (at the feet of Jesus) that are not beneficial. And, just as the trees sprout new leaves, we can replace our ‘dead leaves’ with good.
Our ‘dead leaf’ that we can drop today is: Chaos.
Google defines chaos as complete disorder and confusion. Without a plan or a purpose and without order or understanding; chaos can sweep us away and off into a panic and anxiety inducing land. We need something to keep us stable. Something that shows the way, gives us purpose, gives us order, and gives us understanding. We need the only firm foundation – a corner stone. We need Jesus Christ:
So, this is what the Sovereign Lord says: “See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who relies on it will never be stricken with panic.
Isaiah 28:16
Rely on Jesus – if you do, chaos and disorder will not be an obstacle for you.
For God is not a God of disorder but of peace – as in all congregations of the Lord’s people.
1 Corinthians 14:33
When we have His Cornerstone; we have purpose, order, understanding, stability, and peace.
Our ‘leaf’ of chaos has fallen away and now we can sprout stability in Christ. What a great reason to smile today.
There is always joy to be found and joy to be had.
