Dropping Guilt And Sprouting God’s Forgiveness

Hello friends and welcome to Blogtober. This year’s concept is an autumnal metaphor that I came up with: In fall, trees drop dry, decaying leaves that are not beneficial to the tree. In the same manner, uswhobelieve, can drop things (at the feet of Jesus) that are not beneficial. And, just as the trees sprout new leaves, we can replace our ‘dead leaves’ with good.

Our dry leaf that we can drop today is: Guilt.

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

Romans 3:23-24

We all fall short, and we all are guilty of things, but we are justified through the redemption that came by Christ.

Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.

Romans 8:1

We are not condemned. We are set free. If we repent, we are forgiveness.

How much more, then will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!

Hebrews 9:14

Our conscience is clear because the blood of Christ cleaned it. No matter what you’ve done, you can ask for forgiveness, and it will be given to you freely.

Let us draw near to God with sincere heart with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.

Hebrews 10:22

We have the full assurance of faith, therefore there is no guilt!

The ‘leaf’ of guilt has fallen away, and now, we can sprout the leaf of forgiven. My friends, I hope you realize what a precious gift this is that we’ve been given. We are clean, forgiven, and not condemned because of Jesus.
