Dropping Loneliness And Sprouting Contentment
Hello friends and welcome to Blogtober. This year’s concept is an autumnal metaphor that I came up with: In fall, trees drop dry, decaying leaves that are not beneficial to the tree. In the same manner, uswhobelieve, can drop things (at the feet of Jesus) that are not beneficial. And, just as the trees sprout new leaves, we can replace our ‘dead leaves’ with good.
Our ‘dead leaf’ that we can drop today is: Loneliness.
Google defines loneliness as sadness because one has no friends or company, but when we have God, we are never truly lonely, are we?
The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?
Psalm 118:6
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Isaiah 41:10
“Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the Lord.
Jeremiah 1:8
It’s found all over scripture that God is always with us. He never leaves. In times of trouble, I’ve been known to pray “God please be with me!” and He always says, “I’ve never left your side.” He is right here with us, right now. You aren’t alone. Trust me, when I moved to Japan and my husband left and I hadn’t met any friends; I thought I was alone, but I learned that I wasn’t, and I have never been.
Let’s smile, because our leaf of loneliness has fallen away, and now we can sprout contentment because God is always with us.
There is always joy to be found and joy to be had.
