Forever Free
Hello friends and welcome back to our theme this month - freedom. Our biblical hunt continues! Last time we touched on the fact that we are set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness (Romans 6:18) and today we continue with that in mind as we explore more verses in Romans.
But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life.
Romans 6:22
God didn't just set us free from sin, fear, and death; but He gave us the key to everlasting life. When we become slaves to righteousness we reap that reward. And just as I've said in the past: we aren't even fit to be called slaves, yet He calls us His children.
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.
Romans 8:1-2
The giver of life has given uswhobelieve just that. Not just life in the flesh, not just life in the Heavens, but life everlasting. When God creates the new earth, like mentioned at the end of Revelations, we will have life everlasting still. Forever life! How great is our God?
For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into freedom and glory of the children of God.
Romans 8:20-21
Liberated from bondage! Set free! Freedom! Given eternal life! All of theses words suit our mission this month to dwell on freedom.
Well, my friends, Tuesday will be the last part of hunting for freedom in the Bible, then Thursday will be the last blog of this series where we will recap. I cannot believe July is almost over, and thus, this series. Didn't we just start it?
I hope you find time to smile today. I hope it spreads across your lips with reverence and delight. We are free, us who are in Christ Jesus, "free! Free! Forever we're free! Come join the song of all the redeemed. Yes we're free; free, forever Amen! When death was arrested and my life began." (Song by North Point InsideOut - Death Was Arrested)
