God's Eternal Beauty

I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord's holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ and to know this love that surpasses knowledge - that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Ephesians 3:18-19


Hello friends! Sorry about Monday. I took a break to hang out with a new friend and get some well needed fellowship. That's right, I finally made a friend here on the island.


Today I want to talk about the first time I saw Japan's famous cherry blossom trees. The pink is so striking. Probably the most beautiful shade of pink I've ever seen. It was like my eyes hadn't seen that color clearly before until my eyes fell upon those blooms. It was magical walking among those trees. My attention couldn't focus on anything else but the eye catching pops of color in the mix of browns and greens.


What a breathtaking sight seeing those blossoms with my own eyes. More beautiful than the pictures show and even more beautiful than I thought they could be. I can't help but compare my experiences with God because I always come back to Him. So, I think God is even more beautiful than we can imagine or perceive. Even if someone were to go up to heaven and back to explain how beautiful the heavenly Father and Son are; we would still not be able to fully understand His beauty.


We know God is beautiful. It is in the written word and even if it wasn't, it would be clear to us because of the way He is. He is wonderful, gracious, faithful, loving, and trustworthy. As you can see, I'm not talking about just the visual image of God, but His nature too.


I imagine that is how it will be seeing Jesus in heaven. My eyes could never fall on anything more beautiful or eye catching than Him. He would definitely have my full attention and I think I will also be drawn to Him like I was drawn to the cherry blossoms that He created. Only someone breath takingly beautiful could make all of the wonders of our world. The northern lights, the sunsets over the ocean, the grand canyon, Niagara falls, and even the cherry blossoms. All these beautiful wonders of earth will fade one day but the most beautiful of everything, the Father, will never fade.


Life may be short on this earth, but life is long when you follow Jesus because He knows eternal life and love everlasting, He knows love in the truest and deepest form, and He gives His children those gifts of eternal life and His everlasting love. Oh how He loves us.


Find something to smile about my friends. God put a little bit of His beauty all around the earth for us to behold; like the trees, sky, and flowers. So take the time to smell the flowers today. Enjoy the temporary beauty and praise the eternal beauty which is God.
