He Comforts Us

Even though I walk through the darkest valley; I will fear no evil for are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

Psalm 23:4

Hello friends, welcome to Blogtober! If you're not sure what Blogtober is or want to know more about it; I went into more detail in yesterday’s blog. Today is day one, my friends. I hope you brought a blanket or a warm drink because we are about to curl up with THE Good Book. Our comfort today is just that, the fact that He comforts us.

In 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 it says that He is the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort and that He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort those in any trouble. We can go to Him no matter what we are going through. He is there for us. I have been all alone for over a month now, not knowing a single person in the entire country I am in, but I have someone to talk to. Someone that comforts me. With Him, I don’t feel so alone.

I have noticed a theme. When the bible mentions comfort, a lot of times compassion is in the same verse. I think it is because when you feel compassion, you are understanding of another’s pain and have more of a desire to comfort them. That is God. He understands us and loves us; therefore, He wants to comfort us. Isn’t that something to smile about today?
