He Protects Us

Through I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life. You stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes: with your right hand you save me.

Psalm 138:7

Hello friends! Welcome back to Blogtober! Today is day seven. Our comfort today is that God protects us. So, I think the verse above is a good example of how God protects us. But reading it again now, I have made another comparison. It says that God will stretch out his hand to protect us against the anger of our foes which I interpret as protection from the enemy. Then it says, ‘with your right hand you save me.’ Jesus is called the right hand of God. And he died for us to protect us from the enemy. To save us, so that in death, we can have life with him. If he had not done that, in death we were condemned. We were doomed to spend eternity with the enemy in the flames of hades. He saved us from the enemy’s grasp.

Not only does He protect us from the enemy and the evil of this world, but from fear of those things. I love how Proverbs 29:25 says it: ‘Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe.’ Once we are one of His children; We are no longer a slave to fear. Romans 8:15 from yesterday’s post really sums this up nicely too.

So, friends take comfort in knowing that the Lord almighty has your back. He has fought battles for you that you will never see, because of what Jesus did. And take time to smile about it. It wasn’t guaranteed, but He did it. So, how can we let anything, especially sadness or anger outshine that? Smile and be enveloped with the solace of his protection.

P.S. only one week until my hubby comes home!
