Humble Freedom
Hello friends and welcome back to our theme this month - freedom. Today we continue on our Biblical hunt for freedom. Let's start in Galatians:
You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.
Galatians 5:13
We are gifted with freedom, not to use for selfish reasons, but to serve one another humbly in love. So, we must serve each other without airs, without pretending to be important, and without pride. That is how we must use the freedom that we were called to.
In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.
Ephesians 3:12
Because of what Jesus did, and because we have faith in Him, we can approach God with freedom! He has torn the veil!
Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might be able to break the power of him who holds the power of death - that is, the devil - and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.
Hebrews 2:14-15
The Word became flesh and shared in our humanity to die and be able to break the power of death and free us who were slaves of fear. Wow. Have you ever heard of a super hero doing that? He is the true Hero, King, Savior.
I think that is reason enough to smile today. He has conquered death by doing that very thing - dying. He has granted us freedom through His death and resurrection. You are free if you are in Christ Jesus, so smile and serve one another humbly in love.
