Made with Love and Made to Love

Hello friends. Welcome back to 30 Days of Gratitude. Today I am thankful for love. Love, in my opinion, is the center of everything. I believe we were created because of love. Even though God knew that we would surely fall, he wanted to give us life. He wanted something to love. He wanted companionship. He wanted for us to love him, but He wanted it to be our choice. Because is love really love if it is forced or controlled? He wanted us to make our own decisions and ultimately come to Him on our own. 'We were made with love in mind' was a title of one of my earlier blogs which I talked about that same topic.

Not only were we made with love, but we were also made to love! At our core is love. We spend our limited days with people we love, doing things we love, rooting for teams we love, and fighting for the beliefs we love. That, my friends, is the epitome of opinion. Even in our differences in opinion, appearances, beliefs, hometowns; we are made the same. We all have flesh and bone; and hearts. Hearts that are the physical and metaphorical embodiment of love. We are rooted in love. We are made to love! So today, I am thankful for that love. I know where it originated. I know it's creator. I know the one true love; God.

Love existed before the creation of the world. Humanity didn't invent it, couldn't invent it, and I don't think that we would invent it even if we had the capibilities. Our flesh prefers evil. We were born into sin. So why does your heart love? Why does your heart beat? Because God put that heart in you. Because God allows it to continue beating. We think we have control, but control is an illusion. God has the reigns. We may be able to control what we do with our time, but that is it. That is the only control we have.

Without love, this life would not be worth living. So be thankful today. You have love in your heart and breath in your lungs. You may have limited days, but at least you have days. So be thankful for what you have in those days. Why waste these precious seconds with anything other than thankfulness and joy. There is always something to smile about. I am smiling today because of what I carry in my heart; Jesus, the truest form of love.
