My Tattoo
Hello friends. I know that I said we would explore another book for our series 'My Favorite Verses', but I want to keep this post short today. So, I will only show you one of my favorite verses today and it is in a book we've already talked about. I hope you guys don't mind.
The verse I want for our series today, is the one that I have a tattoo of. I got this tattoo when I was young, probably 19 or 20 - almost 10 years ago, and I have matured since then. Yet, I don't regret this tattoo, and I will tell you why.
He will cover you in his feathers, on his wings you will find refuge : his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
Psalms 91:4
At the time this was my favorite verse, so I got it tattooed onto my foot. I figured it would remind me every time I put my shoes on, that God is faithful. "And if there is a day," I told myself, "that I cannot afford shoes, it would still remind me that He is faithful because He is always faithful."
So, does it? Does it remind me? To be honest, the tattoo has become part of my foot. I don't remember it's there half of the time. Although every now and again, I do look down and remember it.
The bible says to treat your body like a temple and not to deface it, yet I did. I'm not proud of it, but I do not regret it. Why? Because life is too short for regrets; instead I am going to continue to use the tattoo for the purpose that I intended when I got it - to remind me that He is faithful, and forgiving, and that He has me covered. Instead of looking at my left foot as something to be ashamed of, I am going to look at it in this way, and to be honest, I actually love the way my tattoo looks on my foot. The cursive is very pretty.
My friends, find something to make you smile today. Do not look at your past and regret, but use that energy and time for putting to use that lesson learned; then you will have time left over to make someone smile.
