Patriotic

Hello friends. Welcome back to 30 Days of Gratitude. Today I am thankful for my country and the military. In hindsight maybe I should have wrote about this one on veteran's day. But regardless, I am thankful for the US of A. I am thankful for the freedom that comes with being a US citizen. I didn't realize just how blessed I was until I met one of the best friends I've ever had. She is from Cuba and has told me about how life is over there. We don't even realize just how blessed we are, guys.

I'm thankful that we have freedom of speech, religion, and all the other rights that come from the amendments. I am thankful for our military. For those who have died to protect all those rights and freedoms. As well as all those who are currently protecting them; for the deployed. I am thankful that it provides a good job for my husband. It's not an easy job, but a good one.

Though sometimes I cringe at the arrogance of Americans, no matter where you go, there will be a person or two like that. We cannot blame a whole country, race, or even religion for a few bad people in those 'categories'. But that, my friends, is a whole different topic.

I'm thankful for the opportunities that I have, the food and water that I have easy access to, and the freedoms that I process; all because of the country I was born in. Find something to be thankful for my friends, and smile today. There is always something positive to think about, even in the darkest valleys. Today I will smile, even though I feel like crumbling, I will smile.
