'Showing Love' is the best way of 'Grasping Joy'
Hello friends and welcome back to Abounding In Love. In the last part, we talked about 'showing love' (a.k.a. the action God puts behind His love). Today, we talk about the other, which is 'saying love'. That's right, those three short, yet impactful words, but it can't end at that! Saying, "I love you," isn't the only way to 'say love'.
In the last part, I mainly emphasized God 'showing love', but in this part, I want to emphasize our 'saying love' to God. After all, I believe God's 'showing love' is His way of also saying it. Now, it's our turn to say it back to Him. But how do we do that?
What other ways can we 'say love'?
I need you..
I surrender...
I treasure you...
THE
LIST
CAN
GO
ON
AND
ON...
I think you get the idea that so many of your words can 'say love', but how do you structure those words in your own words? These actions, which I've put in bold, will be sure to coax them out. (Kind of like a fill in the blank):
praising His name
Lord, you are ___________. (example: amazing)
confessing our sins and desires
Lord, I am sorry I __________.
Lord, this is the desire of my heart: __________.
admitting our faults and our need for Him
Lord, I am __________ that's why I need you.
treating Him like our Father
Father, teach me how to ___________.
obeying Him
Lord, how do I do __________ for your Kingdom?
stepping out boldly in prayer
Lord, __________.
"But wait," you are probably thinking, "you said this blog was about 'saying' not 'showing'. But isn't the literal word 'saying' a verb? Isn't it the 'showing' of one's feelings? I couldn't help but add 'showing' to this too because, like I said in the last part:
I feel that if the two were a scale, the 'showing of love' would be heavier, more crucial in being sure that this person does loves you.
So, there you have it. Go out and show, and say, love; not only to God, but to those around you! 'Showing love', in my opinion, is the best way of 'grasping joy'.
