The Dirty Penny - Submission Is Worth It

Hello friends and welcome back to our Submission Series. Today, we will continue on in our Biblical hunt for submission.

Our key word for this blog is: obey.

We are witnesses of those things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.

Acts 5:32

The Holy Spirit - what a gift! That present alone is reason enough to submit - it is worth it.

Jesus replied, "Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.

John 14:23

This verse brings my heart so much joy. Jesus loves us so much that, despite our sin, He wants to be with us, to be in our hearts, to make a home with us! Again, submission is worth it!

Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession.

Exodus 19:5

I know this verse is talking about the people of Israel, but we are His people, so we are His treasured possession also. We are like a dirty penny, yet He cleans us, polishes us to make us shine, and treats us like gold! Wow, I am so overwhelmed by Him. Sometimes God just plucks at my heart strings in a way that is unexplainable. It is an incredible feeling.

I hope you guys feel it today too. I hope it raises the corners of your lips like it's raising mine. Smile, submit, and drop your worries. It's all in His hands. His capable, loving, tender hands.
