The Peace That Transcends Understanding
Hello friends and welcome back to our Peace Series. This is the last part of this series and, normally on the last part of a series, I sum up everything that we've discussed, but I feel like we haven't even scratched the surface of peace and there are so many more verses about peace that we haven't explored.
Coming into this series, I didn't realize how much depth the word Peace has or that I wouldn't want this series to come to an end. But, God has given me a new word for the month of September and it is time to move forward. Don't worry, there will be more time in the future for another peace series or another blog concept about peace.
So, instead of summing up our series, I want to add to it in this blog. I want to finish this journey we started together - hunting for peace in the Bible. So, let's finish this thing, despite the fact that it makes for a long blog.
"Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests."
Luke 2:14
"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world!"
John 16:33
Even though we will struggle, suffer, and have turmoil in this world, we still have peace because God has overcome the world!
Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Father's Son, will be with us in truth and love.
2 John 1:3
Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand.
Romans 5:1-2
This is how we have peace - through faith in Jesus Christ because of what He did on the cross.
The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.
Romans 8:6
If it is possible, as far as it depends on you live at peace with everyone.
Romans 12:18
Everyone. Not just with believers, not just with people in your own political party (yeah, I went there), not just with people in fill in label here. Everyone, if it is possible.
For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, because anyone who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and receives human approval. Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.
Romans 14:17-19
Let us make every effort to do what leads to peace!
May God of hope fill you with all joy and peace, as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

For God is not a God of disorder but of peace - as in all congregations of the Lord's people.
1 Corinthians 14:33
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
Galatians 5:22-23
Peace is one of the fruits of the Spirit. It is what we reap when we know God.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7
His peace transcends understanding. We cannot wrap our heads around it, so lets just dwell in it.
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.
Colossians 3:15
We are called to peace!
Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.
2 Thessalonians 3:16

This is why is it important to live in peace and to show (and sow) peace.
They must turn from evil and do good; they must seek peace and pursue it.
1 Peter 3:11
Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance.
Jude 1:2
Indeed, my friends. This will be my prayer for you today. I hope you enjoyed my Peace Series. Even though I could go on and on about peace, maybe I should just resort back to Philippians 4:6-7. I will never be able to truly wrap my head around God's peace, so instead, I am going to take what I can grasp about it and smile. I hope you will join me in that today.
