Write it down!

Hello friends! Welcome to the 3rd installment of my blog series on the book of Colossians. Let's see what chapter three has in stall for us today. I noticed that verse 8 has a list of things to remove from your life and verse 12 has things to add to your life.

Rid yourselves of such things as these:

  • Anger

  • Malice

  • Slander

  • Filthy Language

Clothe yourselves with:

  • Compassion

  • Kindness

  • Humility

  • Gentleness

  • Patience

And to add to the list; verse 15 says to be thankful! Also look at verses 16-17: 'Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom though psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father though him.' It says to be thankful in three back to back verses! I remember a tip that someone once gave me when I was in school. If you're in class and you hear the teacher say something more that once; Write it down! It is important. Another tip, to have gratitude and you gotta have the right attitude. So clothe yourself in compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. That is the recipe for the ideal attitude.

Lastly verse 23: Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart! I don't think you can work at anything with all your heart if it's filled with anger and malice and all those others we mentioned before. I love that about God. How everything is so black and white. There's no confusion. He puts it right there in the open. What to do and what not to do. What to add to your life and what to remove from it. If only this mask thing was so black and white huh?

Guys write it down! be thankful! Because it's important. And smile because we have a lot to be thankful for. What made me smile? A lovely package I got in the mail from my mother in love! (mother in law)
