He Listens to Us

Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

Jeremiah 29:12-13

Hello friends! Welcome back to Blogtober! Today is day three. Our comfort today is that God listens to us. And if we know that he hears us – whatever we ask – we know that we have what we asked of Him. (John 5:15) He wants to know what you have to say. 1 Peter 3:12 says ‘His ears are attentive to their prayer’. He pays close attention to us when we pray to Him and He takes great joy in it.

Isn’t that amazing? He is God, why would He care to listen to us? It’s because, as we discussed yesterday, He loves us. We can come to Him and He is all ears. That is incredible to me and that is something I find comfort in. So, take time to say a prayer today. God wants to hear from you. But as they say, it works both ways, so maybe also take some time to listen to Him too; through the reading His word. God wants a relationship with you. And a relationship takes effort from both sides.

So, curl up with THE good book and watch those autumn leaves fall or listen to some easy music. Find some comfort in Him today and smile. Because the Lord is good.
