He sent His Son to die for our sake

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

John 3:16

Hello friends! Welcome to the very last post of Blogtober! Today is day thirty-one. Our comfort today is that God sent His Son to die for our sake. That, in my opinion, is the ultimate of all comforts. And is the reason I saved it for last. I have been sprinkling this comfort in my Blogtober posts. Have you recognized them?

I have decided to gather them all together to be a post of their own and I have provided a link to them, because amongst all the others, I have written a whole blog post about how we find comfort from the fact that Christ died for us and saved us from the pit. So please click the link at the bottom of this post and read it.

But before that, I want to do what I promised to do in one of my Blogtober posts. To add all the ways that God comforts us into things that God is the God of. Because He is the God of comfort. He is the God of everything, but He is revealing to me that He is the God of whatever you need Him to be when you need it.

God is the God/Father of:

  • Comfort

  • Love

  • Listening

  • Protection

  • Healing

  • Forgiveness

  • Guidance

  • His children

  • Wisdom

  • Rest

  • Courage

  • Joy

  • Peace

  • Hope

The God that:

  • will never forsake

  • is for us

  • that provides

  • is always the same

  • is always with us

  • blesses us

  • is good

  • talks to us

  • keeps His promises

  • builds us up

  • gives/gives us: wisdom, rest, courage, joy, peace, strength and purpose

He is the faithful God and no one can separate us from Him. He is so sovereign. But most of all He is the ONLY God!

Let’s go back to His Son. The name above all names. The Lord above all Lords – Jesus Christ. That name is the most beautiful name of all. The most flawless name or word that could pass through our lips. We are dirty. We don’t even deserve to be able say that wonderful name, yet some take it in vain. That name is meant to only be praised. So praise it and take joy and comfort in it today. HE IS GOOD!
