He Stays the Same

Because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of his purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised, he confirmed it with an oath.

Hebrews 6:17

Hello friends! Welcome back to Blogtober! Today is day ten. Our comfort today is that God stays the same. He is never changing! Today I want to do things a little differently. I want to go over some of verses that I found about how He is unchanging. I found enough to fill a whole page of notebook paper, but I won’t add them all here, for the sake of keeping Blogtober posts short. So let’s curl up with THE good book:

Psalm 33:11 – But the plans of the LORD stand firm forever.

Psalm 102:27 – But you remain the same, and your years will never end. (Read 25-27)

Psalm 119:89 – Your word, LORD is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens. (Read 89-90)

Malachi 3:6 – I the LORD do not change.

Hebrews 13:8 – Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

James 1:17 – Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

And my favorite: 1 Peter 1:24-25 – “All people are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord endures forever.”

Unlike mankind who is ever changing, whether it be our minds, our behavior, our looks, our attitudes, our friendships, our beliefs, and many more; God never changes. His promises stay the same, His plans stay the same, His word stays the same, His son stays the same, and His Spirit stays the same. He is the best friend you could have. He will never go back on his word. He will never break his promises. He will never change the way He loves you. He will never change His mind about us being His children and so He will never forsake us.

Even though He stays the same, He is the result of change in us. When we welcome Him into our hearts and lives, we change. We strive to please Him and obey him. Which in turn makes us change for the better. He transforms us from dead cold bodies and makes us born again. We become alive with his Spirit. He sure has made His unchanging nature as clear as crystal, hasn’t He? It is found all over His word. So, guys I invite you to find joy and comfort in our unchanging God.
